Write these target words on the chalkboard categorized by their familiar themes. Briefly discuss what each word means before moving forward:

Presentation Steps

Step 1: Synonyms and Antonyms Alignment (10 Minutes)

Explain that some words are secret twins (they mean the same thing), while other words are total opposites. Use simple, expressive body language to demonstrate:

Synonyms (Same Meaning Twins):

1. Happy → Glad

2. Near → Close

3. Tidy→ Clean

Antonyms (Opposite Enemies):

1. Happy → Sad

2. Near → Far

3. Tasty → Bitter/Sour

Step 2: Sentence Construction Framework (10 Minutes)

Show pupils how to safely embed their new vocabulary into basic sentence structures. Write a simple sentence shell on the board and let the children fill in the blanks:

Subject} + Verb + New Vocabulary Word} = Complete Sentence

 

Example 1 (Food): The yellow mango is very ripe.

Example 2 (School): We must keep our classroom tidy.

Example 3 (Home): My bed is warm and cosy.

Step 3: Interactive Spelling Game - "The Missing Letter Detective" (5 Minutes)

Write target words on the board with missing vowel or consonant spaces. Have individual pupils rush to the board to fill in the correct letter gaps using a bright color of chalk:

Step 4: The Great Spelling Bee Competition (10 Minutes)

Divide the classroom down the center aisle into two functional units: Team A and Team B.

The Rules: One member from Team A stands up. The teacher calls out a word from the thematic bank (e.g., "Tasty"). The pupil must look at the teacher, repeat the word out loud, spell it clearly ("T-A-S-T-Y"), and say the word again.

Award 2 points for a perfect spelling line. If they miss a letter, the word passes instantly to Team B for a steal round.

Keep a running score tally visibly displayed on the far right section of the chalkboard to maintain motivation.
