Presentation Steps

1. Introduction: Remind pupils about Week 4 (sandy soil). Introduce the remaining two types: **Clay** and **Loamy** soil.
2. Exploring Clay Soil: Show a clay sample. Explain that it is smooth, feels sticky when wet, holds water tightly, and cracks when completely dry. Mention it is great for molding pots and bricks.
3. Exploring Loamy Soil: Explain that loam is a rich, dark mixture of sand and clay. It contains decayed leaves (organic matter), making it the absolute best choice for growing crops.
4. Class Activity (Simple Experiment): Place cotton wool and equal amounts of sand, clay, and loam into three separate funnels over clear cups. Pour equal water into each. Observe that water runs through sand immediately, drops slowly through loam, and barely leaves the clay funnel.
